The building “Max Dohrn Labs” is an important milestone in the completion of the entire campus. In terms of urban development, the building adds another important element to the other buildings along Max-Dohrn-Strasse and contributes significantly to the public perception of the location at Jungfernheide S-Bahn and U-Bahn station.

The hybrid structure of use as an office and laboratory building, which causes different axial grids, floor heights and load classes, should not be perceivable in its appearance. The building combines all requirements and functions in a calm, elegant structure; the facade responds to these different requirements with a superordinate grid and a consistent typology. This creates a serenity and order with which the building can also confidently meet future changes regarding its use.

The building’s utilisation structure is very modular and allows for flexible adaptations to any requirements that might change in the future.
