After nearly 30 years of lying bare, the location is now being brought back to life via an innovative and enthusiastic renovation plan that is giving new architectural and economic drive to the historic site. The vibrant creative and commercial centre, located near Prenzlauer Berg and the Alexanderplatz, has become its own, unique cosmos and melting pot and is oriented on the Meat Packing District in New York.

The four, historically listed brick halls have been renovated to the smallest of details and are complimented by intermediate buildings with space for cafés, bars, a fitness centre and local shops. But the real highlight is the futuristic building, a true cathedral of new work, whose five light flooded floors offer working space for 2.500 employees. The spacious glass facade of the new building creates a quiet background for the smaller, historic halls.

Impressive in their own right, are eight-metre-high loggias with their 12 metre-side bay windows, which give the building its own energy and rhythm. Behind this spectacular facade, one will find intriguing loft offices, coworking spaces, seating niches, meeting rooms and well as open spaces and roof terraces which form green oases and make one’s daily work even more pleasant and productive. In keeping up with the new mobility of tomorrow, the complex will also house the largest bicycle garage in Berlin, complete with electric charging stations. The new, holistically networked district creates the perfect atmosphere for thinking outside the box, for which Berlin’s creative technology and start-up scene is famous for.
