The aim was to create a contemporary and welcoming environment in which their 460 employees could receive guests and comfortably work in. Designed around a spacious courtyard, the triangular structure, with alternatingly high and slightly curved side walls harmoniously interacts with the structures in its vicinity.
The bright facade is made of regionally scoured natural stone. Thanks to different processing methods, the surface is reflected in a variety of ways, creating a playful perception of lightness.
The desired design effect of the façade in different lighting conditions and at different angles of incidence was further enhanced by old stonemasonry techniques such as bush-hammering and scarfing individual parapet bands.
The self-contained building creates very flexible, light-flooded areas inside that can easily be adapted to the changing requirements of the modern working world. Warm, light materials such as wood in the interior harmonise with the regional natural stone Kelheimer Auerkalk used in the façade.
