The book presents a sampling of essential buildings from the 1950s to the present, with a look ahead to the 2020s. The publication divides the monographs into time chapters with authoritative architectural offices still active today, founded in the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s and 2000s. A “timeline” reveals German architectural history since 1950 and the development of the respective architectural offices. The selection of offices provides a comprehensive review of the last decades.
